Guest count, the shape of the room and where the buffet goes — the three things that decide which hall suits your day.
Most couples start with the guest list, and that is the right place to begin — but a hall that seats 400 for dinner does not seat 400 for a sangeet, because the dance floor has to come from somewhere.
Start with the format, not the number
A seated dinner needs roughly ten square feet per guest. A standing reception needs six. A sangeet with a stage and dance floor needs closer to fifteen. The same hall can hold very different numbers depending on what you are doing in it.
Look at where the buffet goes
Guests queue. A hall with the buffet along one wall queues differently from one with island counters, and that changes how the room feels at its busiest moment.
Come and see the halls at the time of day your function will run. Lighting changes everything.
